Virtual Club Championship - Spring update (5)

Last few days of competition in the Spring series. You have until Wednesday 30th June to run your virtual race. We’ll count your best effort.

Only Clair Howison has added her speedy 3km effort in 12:45 (handicap 9:51) for the women since the last update. This now gives her 100 points in the 3km for both the Scratch and Handicap. This puts her to the top of the table with a maximum of 200 points and pushes Mandy Cazes down to 2nd - well done, Clair.

For the men, it’s the 3km that’s the popular event with 10 entrants and athletes having had multiple attempts. However, considering it’s the popular one, you’d better run fast if want the points.

Geoff Pendrill has had a few more goes with his fastest now 12:04 (9:37 handicap). Martin Maginnis still holds the fastest time of 10:49 (9:40). Scott Cumming has had another go too with his 12:21 (9:03) and a PB for him, and was just ahead of Graham Chamber’s first effort of 12:31 (9:47). Ian Fyfe ran 12:47 (10:48) and David Mumford 14:09 (10:24).

Martin Maginnis has blown the 10km field apart with a very impressive 10km PB of 37:32 (33:33), which when combined with his 3km effort puts him top with maximum points. It also looks like Scott Cumming is doing something right too as he’s taken a big chunk off his half-marathon time, down from 1hr 45 to 1hr 42 (handicap of 1:15:01) - well done, Scott.

In the handicap, Clair Howison is also top but has to currently share that spot with Tracy Curle, with both on 198 points. For the men, it’s Scott Cumming who is the mover with his faster 3km and his half too, moving him from 2nd to top of the pile. Martin Maginnis, with his fast 10km moves to 2nd pushing Martin Hawksey to 3rd.

All still to run for in the last 3 days of competition. Don’t forget to submit your times through the Virtual Club Championship page or it won’t count.

So, the handicap as it stands…
