The Junior Club
Our junior sessions are for children from ages 9 to 13 (aged 14-17? see Youth Members below)
We offer an introduction to athletics through weekly run-jump-throw sessions. These are fun-based and suitable for children with a range of abilities and needs.
Please note, the junior club is currently full and there is a waiting list.
If you wish your child to be added to the list, please contact the club secretary at LinlithgowACSecretary@virginmedia.com
How does it work?
The junior club currently runs two sessions: at 18:45 (younger athletes) and 20:00 (older athletes) on Monday evenings, at Linlithgow Academy. We aim to work outdoors whenever possible.
The club costs £10 per month, paid by standing order. There are reductions for two or more children in the same family.
Budding athletes aged 14-17 are too old for the junior club, however they can join in with the adults at our Thursday training sessions, provided that parental consent has been provided. The Thursday sessions are normally held in Linlithgow, or at Grangemouth track (details of the training schedule are posted each month to the official club Facebook page).
Please contact the club secretary at LinlithgowACSecretary@virginmedia.com if you are aged 14-17 and interested in attending these sessions.
Child safeguarding AND PROTECTION
Our training sessions are always supervised by coaches with Scottish Athletics accreditation who have undertaken child safeguarding and protection training.
All coaches/volunteers have current PVG (Protecting Vulnerable Groups) membership.
The welfare, safeguarding and protection of children is at the heart of what we do and we comply with current guidance from Scottish Athletics.
The Club has adopted the scottishathletics Child Protection Policy: https://www.scottishathletics.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2014/04/Scottish-Athletics-Ltd-Child-Protection-Policy.pdf
