Club training sessions

Club coaching nights have something for everyone and cater for all levels of runners. Our experienced and qualified coaches will help you get the best from each session. Why not give them a try or get back into it if you’ve been away for a while? And we always welcome prospective members (for up to four weeks free trial period before joining us).

Tuesdays - Craigswood track, Livingston, 18.00-19.00 for repetition sessions e.g. 4 x 400m @5k pace, 2 x (4 x 200m)@3k pace. (Track available for warm-up from 17.45.)

Thursdays - Linlithgow for sessions on roads and trails round the town. Weeks 1 and 2 sessions are particularly suitable for beginners, but if you can run 5k continuously at any speed you’re welcome at our sessions.

  • Week 1 – Repetition session (repeating a shortish distance with rests in between each effort)

  • Week 2 – Hill Reps (running hard up hills then coasting back down again)

  • Week 3 – Fartlek (speed play – a mix of faster and slower continuous running)

  • Week 4 (in months with 5 Thursdays) – Paarlauf (running in pairs/threes)

  • Last week – Monthly Handicap Race – around 4k (Jan-Nov – meet outside Low Port Centre)

Our sessions are open to any age from 11 up, but we ask that 11-13s are accompanied by a parent/carer. For more details and updates, check our Linlithgow AC Facebook page or contact linlithgowaccoaching@gmail.com.

No need to book in advance - just turn up and run. The cost of facilities like Craigswood track is included in membership for 2023 while the Club reviews future membership structure and prices.
