Virtual Race Series - August update (2)

As we approach the final week of the August virtual races, the tables are filling up with some impressive efforts - but who will take the respective crowns this month?

Kathryn Holm has set a high bar of 6:04 in the mile (5:40 Handicap) to currently hold the ladies top spot. Joyce Tannahill is currently in 2nd place with her 7:24 (6:05).

Lynsey Hay has consistently improved over the summer and has now pushed under 21 mins for the 5k in 20:55 (20:55 handicap). Mandy Cazes currently holds 2nd spot in the 5k at 22:53 (20:21) with Clair Howison in 3rd with 23:22 (21:25). Linzi Matheson ran 30:49 (21:43) to make the handicap competition very close.

Martin Maginnis is our fastest man for the mile with his impressive 5:46 (5:25). Then it’s a frantic finish so far with Paul Emery in 6:17 (5:35), then Scott Hyslop and Angus Gallie in an identical time of 6:21 (5:42 and 5:18 handicap respectively... with Angus currently holding the top handicap spot), then Paul Dudchenko just another 1 second back in 6:22 (5:42). Malcolm Hughes made good use of his second attempt and reduced his time to 6:36 (5:34). David Mumford also had another go, but as far as i can see, it appears to be the same time of 7:18? Let me know if this is true David!

Paul Dudchenko's 21:45 (19:27) is currently the fastest male 5k, with Scott Hyslop just 6 seconds behind in the same time as Malcolm Hughes with 21:51 (19:38). Geoff Pendril's 2nd attempt went 1 second faster over the distance for a 22:45 (17:52) with David Main-Reade just 10 seconds back in 22:55 (18:58). Graham Chambers appears to be getting faster and faster with his 23:15 which is shown in his 17:18 handicap - well done Graham.
