A belated congratulations to Club founder member and Olympian Frank Clement who was recognised for his contribution to Scottish Athletics in the New Year’s Honours List and will be presented with a British Empire Medal (B.E.M). This followed the news that Frank’s grandson, teenager Andrew McGill of Livingston AC, will represent Scotland for the first time at U17 level at the Run Stirling international XC event on January 11. Congratulations to the Clement and McGill families.

On New Year’s Day, the Club had 27 runners at 10 different parkrun venues across Scotland and England - a great turnout. New Year provides the rare opportunity to run two parkrun venues in one day. Mandy Cazes, Paul Emery, Ian Fyfe, David Main-Reade, Linzi Matheson, Charlotte Moran, Joyce Robertson and Lorna Simpson all ran Polkemmet and Livingston. Scott Cumming ran Ayr and Girvan Prom. Colin Hutcheon also ran his first Polkemmet parkrun finishing 1st MV65-69 and smashed age-group course record by 32 seconds (22:00).

On Saturday, the Club had 24 runners at 5 different parkrun venues across Scotland and Australia! The biggest Club turnout was at Falkirk where 14 Club members ran - James Hammond, Hannah Danson and Linzi Matheson all getting new PBs - well done.
