Weekly update: Weather impacts coached sessions and parkrun

A shorter update as the weather unfortunately wreaked havoc to both track and XC taster sessions this week - although a few hardy souls braved the elements. Great determination (but just a little bit mad!). And, a great turnout on Thursday evening for Mike Watts first coached session for the Club, Preston Road hill reps. A hard session made trickier by the slippy underfoot conditions, good fun nevertheless.

Rewind to last Saturday, where David Main-Reade, Ian Fyfe and Alison Marven weren’t content with running Ury Riverside parkrun (where Ian got his highest WAVA score) the trio then headed to Huntley for a 5K race. Well done to all three.

This Saturday, the Club had 7 runners across 5 different parkrun venues across Scotland, England and Malaysia! A number of local parkrun events were impacted by the stormy weather this weeked but while Jill Horsburgh and Ian Fyfe were at a very wet and wild Crammond, in stark contrast, David Main-Reade ran his first parkrun in Malaysia at Putrajaya in 28 degree heat and humidity (and again followed it up with a 5k fun run this time round the Petronas towers). Scott Cumming picked up a course PB at Polkemmet, finishing in 26:11.
