Weekly Update: Win an Edinburgh Marathon place, ‘Athlete of the Year’ vote and Lorna secures coaching qualification

The Club’s coaching team go from strength to strength. Lorna Simpson recently achieved her Level 3 (Event Group Coach - Endurance) Coaching License at the Emirates Arena, Glasgow. Well done Lorna!

This Saturday will see the Club celebrate its 40th Anniversary at the Burgh Halls and is now sold out! A key part of the annual awards & prize giving is the crowning of the Club’s Athlete of the Year 2019. Competition time! Planning your running calendar for 2020? If you’ve got the Edinburgh Marathon Festival in your sights but haven’t entered yet, the Club has one spot up for grabs. If you’re interested in winning our free spot drop an email to Alex Wood to put your name in the draw. The winner will be announced by 31st Dec 2019.

At parkrun this week, the Club had 17 runners across 6 different runs.

At Edinburgh, Jude Moir ran in 22:54. At Falkirk, Paul Dudchenko ran in 21:33 followed by Ian Lockhart in 23:53, Rebecca Hammond in 24:22, Mark Anderson in 27:08, Alex Wood in 27:57, Rhiann Ferguson in 28:07, Isobel Lockhart in 29:35 and Yvonne McHugh in 31:15. Malcolm Hughes ran Livingston in 24:36 along with Neil Halliday in 25:51. At Oriam, Scott Hyslop ran in 22:06 along with Neil Anderson in 22:24, David Main-Reade in 24:22 and Mandy Cazes in 25:38. At Drumpellier, Scott Cumming ran in 24:44. Our parkrun tourist, Mike Watts ran Delamere in 20:28.
