Weekly update: Tues paced runs, Bella 10k, Tweed Valley Ultra and parkrun

Tuesday evening saw the second of the Club’s newly established paced running sessions. With over 30 local runners in attendance, the sessions are proving a hit not only for those new to running but also those who are more experienced. The next paced run will be on Tuesday 26th November meeting at the Low Port Centre at 7.30pm.

On Sunday, Frances and Alex Wood along with Kenny Gray ran the Jimmy Irvine Bella 10k in Glasgow. The race which involves two loops of Bellahouston Park takes runners past the iconic House for an Art Lover. Kenny was first home in 43:17 followed by Frances in 48:18 and birthday boy Alex in 58:48.

Also on Sunday, Paul Dudchenko, David Mason and Trevor Galloway competed in the Tweed Valley Ultramarathon.  The 41 mile course started in Glentress, and travelled across Minch Moor on the Southern Upland Way. After 8 hours on the trail, Paul, David and Trevor finished within minutes of one another in 8:18, 8:25 and 8:27, respectively. A fantastic effort by all 3 in bitterly cold conditions, especially Paul who suffered a dislocated thumb along the way.

At parkrun, the Club had 22 runners across 7 different runs.
