Weekly update: The Heb adventure race, Perth 10k and parkrun

Brian Couper, Darren Dick and Neil Anderson (fresh from his trip to Shetland) took part in The Heb, an adventure race set in some of the most spectacular, wild and remote landscape in Scotland – the Hebridean Island chain off the west coast. The trio spent two days cycling along beaches, kayaking, climbing hills and trotting through bogs. The mud and sand will (eventually) wash away but the memories of North and South Uist and Benbecula will never fade - a great race by all accounts.

On Sunday, Ian Logan and Hannah Danson were in Perth for the 10k race. A popular event on the Scottish running calendar, the race has been going for over 30 years. A flat, fast route taking in views of the River Tay, and offers runners a good opportunity for a fast time. Ian finished in 36:31 mins making him 8th overall (2nd MV), and Hannah finished in 51:46 mins.

At parkrun, the Club had 8 runners across 6 different runs.

Martin Maginnis was the fastest Linlithgow finisher this week, completing Livingston in 20:14. Also at Livingston, Lorna Simpson finished in 24:34 and Mandy Cazes in 25:04. At Southwark, Charlotte Fortune finished in 20:43. At Polkemmet, Jill Horsburgh finished in 25:38.

Our parkrun tourists this week. David Main-Reade was at Zilmere in Brisbane (collecting his ‘Z’ in the process), finishing in 22:44. Scott Cumming was at Hay Lodge, finishing in 26:21 and Ian Box all was in Stonehaven, finishing in 22:04.
