On Sunday John Redding and Michal Sroka ran the Aberfeldy half ironman, a 1.9k swim in the cool waters of Loch Tay, a 90k bike ride over the shoulder of Schehallion and round Loch Rannoch, and a half marathon in the grounds of Kenmore estate. John completed it in 4:57:50 and Michal in 5:02:11. It was a great race if a little wet and soggy to start and pretty tired legs by the end.
At a less gruelling level there were also parkruns for Linlithgow Athletic Club members.
At Edinburgh, Lorna Simpson finished in 22:06 (2nd VW40), Kathryn Holm in 23:40 and Scott Cumming in 25:40. David Main-Reade completed Lanark Moor in 25:00 (1st VM50) and thoroughly recommends the combination of hills,, bends, trails and tarmac.
At Falkirk parkrun all five Linlithgow runners were placed in their age-grade, a great achievement. Kenny Gray ran 20:05 (1st VM409), Ian Boxall 21:04 (3rd VM50), Malcolm Hughes 22:37 (1st VM55), Jennifer Newton 25:44 (2nd VW50) and Roddy Simpson 27:07 (1st VM70).
