Weekly Update: Running, swimming & cycling: Linlithgow Athletic Club Weekly Roundup

Linlithgow Athletic Club members were running (and swimming and cycling) in France, England and Scotland last week.

Ian Logan was racing at the Scottish Aquathlon Championships at Balloch, Loch Lomond, on Saturday.  It comprised a 750m swim in the loch followed by a 5km run. Ian was 10th overall and 1st Veteran (over 40) in a time of 32.12 (11.08 minutes for the swim and 19.36 minutes for the run).

David Main-Reade ran parkrun de la Ramée in Tournefeuille, France, in 23:41 (1st VM45).  Not quite so far-flung (but ‘overseas’ after a fashion), Neil Anderson ran Kirkwall in 22:17 (2nd VM55).   Malcolm Hughes ran the Mile End Parkrun, in London in 22:40 (2nd MV55) prior to cycling the Prudential Ride London 100 mile cycle-race on Sunday.  Lorna Simpson finished Carlisle in 22:57 (2nd VW40), having completed Heslington, the previous week, in 22:23 (2nd Woman).  Michael Watts completed Aberdeen in 19:51 (a PB for that course).  In Edinburgh, William Millar finished in 20:07 and Scott Cumming in 26:00.  The club’s biggest turn-out, with eight runners, was at our local run at Falkirk.  Martin Maginnis completed in 21:22 (3rd VM35), Gary Welsh in 23:41, Jill Horsburgh in 25:19 (1st VW55), Alex. Wood in 25:47 (2nd VM65 and 100th parkrun), Jennifer Newton in 26:05 (3rd VW50), Kenny Gray in 27:38 (200th parkrun), Roddy Simpson in 30:33 (1st VM70) and Graeme Wilkinson in 49:28.
